incongruous

roxanna zamani recently won an emerging designer award at iDdunedin [along with igor galas]. her collection titled incongruous is all about the pairing of opposites and the tension between them. looking at these images i am struck with how she has taken fine silk and folded it in such a structural way, giving it an almost armor-like quality. the resulting forms feel both organic and highly geometric, and i like how avante garde they are. read more about her work here.
